How you can help

It costs just £8,000 a year to run each home. That’s £16,000 for 16 boys, paying for food, rent, clothes, school fees, medical care, social activities and salaries for our Amas, Didis, tutor and house manager. The homes are kept running solely by fundraising events and donations from trustees, friends and supporters.

All of the money we raise is spent in Nepal. The trustees cover all admin costs themselves, and when Kathryn and Keith visit the boys they pay for their own expenses, including flights. Every penny you give will directly help the boys.

Donate

Please join The Yak Pak and make a regular donation. It’s the best way you can help us as we’d know exactly how much money was coming in and how much we’d need to raise to keep the houses going. We need just 220 people giving just £5 per month and we’d be sorted. You could be one of them!

Alternatively, you can make a one-off donation through our Virgin Money Giving page. Thank you!

Your donation will go a long way!

Fundraise for us

Over the years friends and supporters of Yaknak have gone to great lengths to keep the houses going. Entrants in the Glasgow half marathon once raised £1,900 while a 24-hour endurance walk raised more than £2,000. These two events alone could keep the houses running for four months!

If you’re thinking of entering a race or trekking in Nepal you could ask people to sponsor you, or if you fancy something a little less challenging you could try a sponsored silence or arrange a raffle. If you run or work for a business you could take one of our collection tins. You could make a huge difference to our boys and we’ll give you all the help you’ll need with our fundraising ideas list and sponsor form.

Just email jim@yaknak.org for details.

Help spread the word

Remember, it takes just £1,333 a month to support sixteen boys and the staff who care for them.

The more people who know about Ketaketi Homes the better chance we stand of keeping them going.

Help spread the word by joining our Facebook page, telling your friends about us so they can donate, or asking for help from people in clubs or businesses who may be able to organise group fundraisers. Every penny they raise will be spent in Nepal and make a huge difference to the lives of our boys.

Thank you!
